Khajjiar is a small hill station in Chamba District, Himachal Pradesh. It is 24 km far away from Dalhousie. It is a large green valley covered with green grasses and surrounded by Dhauladhar Range of the Himalaya. A small lake in the middle of the valley is emphasizing the beauty of the valley.

The natural beauty of the valley is often compared with Switzerland’s. Khajjiar is among the 160 locations in the world that bear topographical resemblance with Switzerland. On 7 July 1992, Mr. Willy T. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India brought Khajjiar on the world tourism map by calling it "Mini Switzerland".

Dhauladhar Mountain is one of the attractions of this place.The valley is surrounded by the range is such a way that the mighty Himalaya is guarding the valley from the attack of concrete.The amazing view of white peaks of Dhauladhar from the middle of the valley can attract you like magnate.

Khajjiar Valley is actually a ground covered with green grasses and nature has gifted it a lash green fence of Pine forest. One can roam around the forest or take a horse ride through the forest.

How to Reach: You have to go to Amritsar through Delhi. Take a cab to Dalhousie from Amritsar. Khajjiar is 24 km away from Dalhousie.

Where to stay? You can stay both at Dalhousie and Khajjiar. But Dalhousi is much better option than the latter because it will take hardly 40 minutes to reach Khajjiar from Dalhousie and the road is really awesome, Pirpanjal ranges will always accompany you throughout the journey.

Sight Seeing: It is actually sightseeing from Dalhousie. Beside this you can go to Sach Pass, Kalatop Hills, Saint Patrick Church and also enjoy the Dalhousie market. Khajjiar offers numerous trekking opportunities. Khajjiar to Dainkund is a 3.5 kilometre easy to moderate trek. The trek starts 6 kilometres from Khajjiar on the Dalhousie-Khajjiar road and ends at Pholani Devi Temple at Dainkund.

When to Go:You can go throughout the year. Khajjiar will welcome with always changing beauty according to the season.  But avoid the rainy season.

A Trip to the New Darjeeling...Sillery-Gaon

How to Reach?

You have to reach NJP Station/Bagdogra Airport.Train and Flight Services are frequent.Then enjoy the greenery and an adventurous motorable road trip from Pedong to reach Sillery Gaon. It will take approximately 3hours 30 minutes (90.1 kms)

Enjoy the heart warming view of the widest range of Mount Kanchenjunga from here and its allied peaks Macchli - Puchhere and from Tinchuley a 360 degree view of the Himalayas.You can't miss the Ramitey View Point which would provide an adventurous 1.5 km trek from Sillery Gaon and also offers the view of the meeting of Teesta river and its 14 tributaries.You can also make a visit to the ancient Sangchen Dorjee Monastry which was built during the Bhutanese rule in Pedong and the ruins of the Damsang Fort built in 1690,the last home of the Lepcha King Gyaho Achuk.
